Probate is referred to as the process of sorting out someone’s affairs when they pass away.
It is the duty of the appointed executors to carry out some very specific duties in this regard.

Here is a list of some of those duties

  • Working out the value of the estate
  • Completing inheritance tax forms and paying inheritance tax
  • Completing the probate form
  • Applying for Probate
  • Advertising for Creditors
  • Opening an Executor’s bank account
  • Collecting in the assets of the estate
  • Dealing with the deceased’s property
  • Paying debts & liabilities
  • Dealing with capital gains tax and income tax
  • Notifying the beneficiaries
